I am a composer based in New York City. I recently finished my operatic film ON MANS LOVE SPENT: I CALL HIM BOBBO. The music was a collaboration with Sean Canty and Miles Whittaker of Demdike Stare. A selection of the music was released via DDS titled 'TO CUT AND SHOOT.' I work with other directors that desire more dimensional involvement of sound while continuing to evolve PUS, a series of captured fables incepted in 2020. “I don’t believe in your truth and my truth - I hate that term. “Well I’m telling my
truth” no you’re not.
There is one truth.
The truth is what actually happened. That is the truth.
It’s not my truth, it’s not your truth, it’s not that person's truth, it is THE TRUTH.
And we weren’t around back then, and we didn’t have mass media
and there is a great line from the movie jesus christ superstar:
‘Israel in 2000 BC has no mass communication’ don't you get me wrong -
and he’s all talk and actually taking the stance,
it’s judas singing the song,
but he is taking the stance of - we don’t know cause we weren’t there!
and how can you trust something that was interpreted by that person
possibly under the influence of alcohol or some other drug back then and they had some
epiphany-style-vision.
How can you trust that, that actually happened and they weren’t just
stoned out of their fuckin gords.
I want it to be real.
All he’s gotta do is just sit with me for a few minutes.
If you and I can pull it off as the lowly amoebas that we are, don’t tell me an omnipotent person can’t spend 30 seconds
with each and every one of us, and get our head right for us
you know?
As far as all the fire and brimstone and my moms cultist religion:
‘ohhh their coming back and only one hundred thousand are gunna live
and fire will fall down from the sky
And everybody's is gonna fall into a deep chasm
I thought about it this morning
before I came over here.
I got out of the shower, brushin my teeth and thought like
‘If I die today,
I want every single step that I’m allowed by whoever it is that delves this shit out.
whoever allowed me whatever steps I have I want every one of them.
But if I die today, I’m ok with it.
Im not giving up, I’m not suicidal. I’m OK with it. I’ve had a good run.
I wasn’t supposed to make it this far I don’t think. And I’ve cheated however ever where ever. Whenever”
